Navigating relationships with a chronic illness can be tricky   GET BACK IN CONTROL →

INTRODUCING

Your path to overcome stress and anxiety in 5 weeks.  An intimate 1:1 personal coaching journey designed to help you to take control of your stress and anxiety, accessible anywhere, virtually.

Are you ready to overcome the overwhelm once and for all?

The truth is many of us feel stuck, stressed out, frustrated, tired, and overwhelmed and dealing with a health condition on top of that can be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Even with new symptoms like increased pain or fatigue you may try to carry on in the same way that you always have, expecting everything to be OK – then wonder why it isn’t.

You can wake up feeling defeated before you’ve begun.

You are drained emotionally as well as physically and you just feel like you are in a constant state of stress, sadness or near exhaustion.

When you think about managing ALL the things: work, home, love life, kids, shopping, housework… let alone have time for any kind of social life it feels like it will all come crashing down any minute.

You aren’t really LIVING, and you certainly aren’t LOVING your life.

Do any of these apply to you?

  • NYou’re worn out, tiredand feel like you’ve tried it all… the supplements, the self help books and ALL the doctors
  • NYou’re constantly stressed andoverwhelmed and feel like the smallest thing is going to tip you over the edge
  • NYou had your life planned out, then this… now you youhaven’t a clue what the future holds and that scares the f**k out of you
  • NYou are juggling all the things: family, work, friends, health and just feel like you are trying to pour from an empty cup
  • NYou feel like you have it all together then you have a glass of wine or a few beers and itall goes to pieces.
  • NYou’re pissed off that you can’t do all the things that you want to do so you try to do too many things at once… and none of them well.
  • NLife is continually throwing you one setback after another

Would’t this be great?

Overcome

You just want life to feel easier and dare I say more ‘normal’.

To love your life and look after your health without so much of the worry.

To get a good balance so that you can love your life and look after your health without collapsing on the sofa at the end of the day

Manage self care without and finally give yourself the permission to rest

To stop beating yourself up so much

To be able to recognise exactly what you need and when and allow yourself to have that without the constant guilt

To discover your own personal stress signature and use that to create more calm and balance

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

Newsflash being diagnosed with a long term health condition does not come with a manual and if it did I bet the pages would be missing that helped you manage your emotions, stress levels and keep your anxious thoughts at bay.

Yet it is just as important to look after your mental health as it is your physical health , Why is this overlooked?

I’ve felt my fair share of being stuck, stressed out, frustrated tired and overwhelmed (sometimes all at the same time).

But I have also learned tools and techniques that I wish I had been shown in the beginning.

After living with two genetic conditions all my life, a large proportion of which was undiagnosed, I found myself just surviving.  If I’m honest I just didn’t know another way.

But when the kids were born, and I realised that chronic illness and disability was present in their lives too and I knew that I had to step up.

I slowly realised that although I was doing my best, I really wasn’t helping myself.

I learned new ways to be, to manage my anxiety, stress and feel less overwhelmed.

I did it the hard way, you don’t have to.  I can confidently fast track you on your own path to managing anxiety and stress and overcoming overwhelm.

Raised hand with writing on the palm saying OK?

It’s not that you…

  • ^need to read more about what to do
  • ^need to get on with it or put up with it
  • ^need to until you have everything else figured out
  • ^Need to just push through till the holidays so that you can rest, right?!

Wrong

It’s because don’t know what you don’t know, and it feels really hard and lonely to do it on your own.

You just need these things, an acceptance of where you are right now, the understanding of what is happening, the support to get under the hood of what is holding you back and the ability to act on all that knowledge.

You have the power within you to finally feel in control of your chronic condition and deal with setbacks with calmness and confidence.

But this doesn’t start by googling more information or keeping your fingers crossed that the next doctor that you see will have all of the answers.

In an age where information is at our very fingertips 24/7 I’m going to let you into a little secret… understanding everything that there is to know about your condition won’t solve it.  You must do something with that knowledge. To take action.

That’s where most people get stuck.

I believe that you have all the tools that you need to overcome the overwhelm in your life to maximise your health and wellbeing. You just might not realise it yet 😉

This programme will show you how.

“Sarah has been a warm, friendly, and incredible support to me…

especially as I returned to work full-time after a long period of illness. She allowed me to see where I needed to take a step back and re-evaluate my goals and values, and breathe when I started feeling overwhelmed. It was perfect timing for this new transition. She really has a multitude of techniques and I totally recommend her insight.”

My coaching sessions with Sarah have left me feeling refreshed and full of positive energy.

I’ve gained lots of insights and ideas and have taken some useful practical steps.  Swapping the daily abstract panic and stress I felt about my need to return to work for a well-formed outcome focused on what I want to achieve for myself and my family feels really liberating and has opened up lots of possibilities in my mind. The practice of identifying and reflecting on what I want, and when I want it, has helped massively – paying attention to this as I go about my day to day is helping me to manage distractions and make decisions about how to use my time. “

“Talking with Sarah is like catching up with an old friend, and she is the best cheerleader cheering you on to a better place.”

“When I first came to Sarah, I thought I had a hold of my mental and physical well-being, however she introduced me to new concepts to keep my me in check. Pacing, maintaining my window of tolerance, understanding hypoarousal, and giving my inner child forgiveness are just a few of the concepts that gave me more insight, purpose and control in my chronic illness life. It didn’t matter what we talked about in our sessions, Sarah had the practices to apply and she gave me the encouragement to succeed. Talking with Sarah is like catching up with an old friend, and she is the best cheerleader cheering you on to a better place. I highly recommend Sarah as a life coach and advocate in your healthcare team.”

No two people with chronic illness are the same, but often the feelings that we feel are very similar.

You will be able to take away tools and techniques to put into practice in your life immediately and re-visit them whenever you need to.  You will have a much better understanding of who you are and how your tick, which is priceless 😉

Feel less stressed, be your best

1

Swap stress for...

A genuine sense of calm and inner peace as you  reset and accept your situation right now for what it is.

Learn to recognise stress intervene before you reach overwhelm so that you feel in control.

2

Swap fear for...

Trust as you learn to tune in and listen to your body’s innate wisdom.

As you will learn to be courageous as you get intimate with your fears instead of hiding from them.

3

Swap overwhelm for...

Kindness to yourself and your situation which will let you approach setbacks with compassion and grace.

Develop a new relationship to rest that allows you to restore.

It should feel easier, right?!.

You finally have a diagnosis and the answer to the symptoms that you have been so desperately seeking, you should feel happy you have the answer.

But,  why is living with a chronic condition so damn isolating?

Why does the uncertainty surrounding your future feel so damn scary?

And, why do you feel like you are barely keeping your head above the water most days.

There is a real gap in services when it comes to empowering people to manage their chronic condition in the UK.

I see this play out every day in my family and with my clients.

I strongly believe that our bodies communicate clearly if we choose to listen to them.

I spent years trying to figure it all out for myself, learning to recognise the subtle symptoms so that I could prevent the crashes, to undo the coping mechanisms that I had taught myself to survive and to understand the domino effect health often takes with chronic illness.

The big change came for me when I learned to accept my chronic illness and disability and to manage and face up to all the thoughts and emotions that I had been hiding from.

I was able to recognise my own needs and meet them for myself consistently, while at the same time letting go of the feelings and guilt and frustration that was not longer serving me.

Everything loosened its grip.

I got a handle on the things that I could control and let go of the things that I couldn’t.  So that I felt in charge of my destination again.

I reconnected with my body instead of constantly fighting with it or pushing away the symptoms (game changer right here)!

And built boundries that supported not just me but everypone around me.

I began to look at life in a totally different way and can now look back on my younger self with compassion and the utmost respect.

Have a question?

Check out the answers to the most commonly asked questions below… got any more? Just book a call and I can answer them.

What is a life coach?
A life coach helps you establish a plan to move you closer to your goal, helps you track your progress, and hold you accountable to take courageous action.

Reaching goals doesn’t happen overnight. It takes clear strategy, hard work, and patience. But trying to reach a goal without support can be overwhelming and lonely.

Imagine having the accountability, resources, and a best friend by your side  (that’s me) to help you to reach your most meaningful goals in half the time and effort and to become calm, connected and in control of your chronic illness?

Who do you work with?

I work with people with long term or chronic illness and help them to take control of their life and their health.

These people are from all walks of life, homemakers, business leaders, other coaches and students.

I help them get in control of pain and fatigue, manage symptoms, re-connect with who they are, regain a sense of balance in their life, increase their confidence, learn to connect with their emotions, befriend and attend to their own nervous system and feel in control of their lives and where they are heading.   In this Intimate 5 week coaching container we be specifically focussing on stress and overwhelm so that you can feel calmer, understand yourself better and manage life setbacks.

If long term illness is not part of your life but you are feeling overwhelmed, please get in touch and we’ll have a chat and see if I can help you.

What happens if I can't make a session
Hey, I understand that chronic illness is unpredictable and the journey to wellness is not without its bumps in the road.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy where you can log in and rebook at a time that suits you better.

If it’s less that 24 hours this option will not be available but you can give me a call or email and we can discuss if it is possible to rebook the session.

How do sessions take place?

All sessions will take place over zoom.  You will need to download the zoom app prior to your first session and have access to a reliable internet connection. You may also need a pen and paper hand.  Alternatively sessions can take place over the telephone.

What is the time commitment?

This is an intimate 5 week coaching container.  Each session will be between 60 and 90 minutes.  You will have HW in-between each session to complete.  This is not like school where you will report back each week but is designed to support your learning and fast track the coaching process.  All sessions are conducted on Zoom so they are super convenient to you.

The real question is do you want to invest in this time in yourself?

Your health problems don’t define who you are, they are something that you experience.  As Matt Haig said “You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”

So the real question is are you ready to walk in the rain? To feel it on your skin? To dance in that rain? To know that you are not defined by your health problems and can live well with them.

To do things differently? To be someone different?
