I understand what it is like to feel exhausted, depleted and in pain every day but I also know the freedom that comes from having a good relationship with my health condition. I now have ways to manage pain and fatigue that don’t just involve just reaching for the medication, or a glass of wine at the end of the day! I communicate better with everyone around me and no longer place myself below everyone else. I know that I am worthy of all the amazing things that come my way.
There were four key things that changed the game for me; acceptance the foundation to living well with a long term health condition, managing my conditions well, finding my purpose again and having effective and amazing relationships with the people around me. But, most of all with myself.
Underpinning all of this was my mindset… mindset is everything!
I have learnt to thrive with balance (super important), and pushed myself to grow in ways I never realised I could and I choose the way that I live each and every day.

This programmes is designed around the support I wish that I had when I was diagnosed with my chronic illness’ and was desperately trying to get me head around what that meant for me, my family and my future.
Looking back I wish I had the help, this help, to process what my diagnosis meant for me and to know how to start living my life (albeit a different one to the one that I had planned out in my head).
I spent years trying to figure it all out for myself, learning to recognise the subtle symptoms so that I could prevent the crashes, to undo the coping mechanisms that I had taught myself to survive and to understand the domino effect health often takes with chronic illness.
It was when I made a choice. To show up for myself, to be accountable, to accept that I only have one life and it is my responsibility to live it the best way that I can… for ME. Then things began to change.
But, it was in my training as a coach and Master NLP Practitioner (neuro-linguistic programming) and as a Chrysalis Effect practitioner that I learned the tools and techniques, that I if knew had I had access to earlier, I would not have spent the years trying to figure it all out on my own.
I strongly believe that we shouldn’t have to figure it all out on our own, or accept that ‘this is it’. The big change came for me when I learned to accept my chronic illness/ disability and to manage my thoughts and emotions surrounding it.
I connected again with the things that brought me happiness and joy and got a handle on the things that I could control and let go of the things that I couldn’t. So that I felt in charge of my destination again.
I built stronger relationships with family, friends and medical professionals and most importantly with myself. I began to look at life in a totally different way. I look back on my younger self with compassion (and a tinge of annoyance) as a wasted so much time trying to work it all out.

What is a life coach?
A life coach helps you establish a plan to move you closer to your goal, helps you track your progress, and hold you accountable to take courageous action. As a wellness coach I want my clients to regain the sense of balance that they are seeking and get back in control of their life and their health.
How will life coaching benefit me?
Reaching your goals doesn’t happen overnight. It takes clear strategy, hard work, and patience. But trying to reach a goal without support can be overwhelming and lonely. Imagine having the accountability, resources, and clarity to reach your most meaningful goals in half the time and effort?
A coach helps you grow by analysing your current situation, identifying limiting beliefs and other potential challenges and obstacles you face and devising a custom plan of action designed to help you achieve specific outcomes in your life.
The relationship between a client and their lifestyle coach is a creative partnership that seeks to:
- Identify, clarify and create a vision for what the client wants
- Use coach’s expertise to modify goals as needed
- Encourage client’s self-discovery and growth
- Nurture and evoke strategies and a plan of action based on what fits best with the client’s goals, personality and vision

What is the difference between life coaching and traditional therapies?
Coaching differs from traditional therapies in that it is not analysis. We may at times use the past as a resource and learning but we are not analysing the past with the outcome of knowing “why” you have your issue today – our focus is on the present and the future and “what” you can do about it and “how” you can change and create your outcome. There comes a point when reliving the story that got you to where you are today does not serve you in your future.
Do I need counselling?
Maybe, yes! There is a place for all the therapies depending on where a client is and what they need. Traditional therapies like counselling or psychotherapy hold a space for you and revisit the past to work out why. This is an important part of the journey for some clients. Life coaching can work in conjunction with these types of therapies.
How will life coaching benefit me?
People choose to hire life coaches because they want to do more tomorrow than they can do today. They want to improve their output and see more growth, and they want to do those things quickly and to the best of their ability. All kinds of people use life coaches, including actors, business leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, executives, homemakers, managers, professionals, small business owners and start-up pioneers. These people all identify a gap between where they are and where they want to be, and turn to coaching when they want help reaching their goals. When you ask yourself what is a life coach and why should I work with one, you’re asking yourself why you’d want to unlock an extraordinary life.
Who do you work with?
I work with women with long term or chronic illness and help them to take control of their life and their health.
These women are from all walks of life, homemakers, business leaders, other coaches and students.
I help them get in control of pain and fatigue, manage their symptome, re-connect with who they are, regain a sense of balance in their life and be able to maintain it.

What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is used to enhance performance, to help an individual control their emotional state and to stay focussed on what they want from life. It incorporates specific Neuro-Linguistic Programming strategies and techniques designed to produce specific outcomes.
What is the difference between NLP and Life coaching?
Life coaching helps coaches to identify the roadblocks that are stopping their clients from achieving their desired outcome. Beyond the recognition of these roadblocks, NLP Coaching allows you to delve deeper and identify the root cause of these roadblocks which when removed, result in a more profound transformation. Life coaching with NLP work really well together to help clients achieve the results they want quickly.
What if I can't make a session?
Hey, I understand that chronic illness is unpredictable and the journey to wellness is not without its bumps in the road. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy where you can log in and rebook at a time that suits you better.
If it’s less that 24 hours this option will not be available but you can give me a call and we can discuss if it is possible to rebook the session. (This is at my discresion).
How will sessions take place?
All sessions will take place over zoom. You will need to download the zoom app prior to your first session and have access to a reliable internet connection. You may also need a pen and paper hand. Alternatively sessions can take place over the telephone.
In the future I may look at adding face to face sessions as an option for clients who want that.
How long will life coaching continue for?
That depends on where you are in life, where you want to go, and how quickly you want to get there. There’s no right or wrong time frame for life coaching. Some clients achieve their goals in as little as three months; others stay with a coach anywhere from six to eighteen months. After clients realise their first goals, they often identify other areas they want to work on.
The coaching relationship can continue as long as there is benefit to the client.
Do I really have time for life coaching?
Absolutely! Life coaching sessions are conducted on Zoom so they are super convenient to you. Typically I see people for an hour a week, but this is very flexible.
The real question is do you want to invest in yourself?
It's expensive. I don't think that I can afford it?
I get it, you are not buying a new car or booking a holiday where there is instant gratification or something to look forward to.
