INTRODUCING

Personalised 1:1 coaching designed to help you to take control of your chronic illness once and for all, accessible anywhere, virtually.

Ready to gain control of your chronic condition once and for all?

The truth is many of us feel stuck, stressed out, frustrated, tired and overwhelmed and living with a chronic condition throws another element into the mix.

Even with new symptoms you may try to carry on in the same way that you always have, expecting everything to be OK – then wonder why it isn’t.  Or get scared that symptoms are going to flare and you may feel worse, so not try.  On top of this there is the constant worry about the pressure that you are putting on those around you and you just feel like you are in a constant state of stress, sadness or near exhaustion.   You aren’t really LIVING, and you certainly aren’t LOVING your life.

I believe that you have the power within you to finally feel in control of your chronic condition and deal with setbacks with calmness and confidence.  To not only to live with your health condition but to learn to begin to thrive again.

But, this doesn’t start by googling more information or keeping your fingers crossed that the next doctor that you see will have all of the answers.  You have all the tools that you need to live well with your chronic condition and to work with your doctors to maximise your health and wellbeing. You just might not realise it yet 😉

This programme will show you how.

You have too much power to be a victim to your chronic illness.

You’ve mastered survival mode, now it’s time to thrive.

I understand what it is like to feel exhausted, depleted and in pain every day.

With two chronic illness diagnosis under my belt you can safely say that I have been there and got the T shirt.  I have learnt to navigate the turbulent waters of diagnosis, acceptance and I have learnt to live and then thrive within my new normal.

I’ve felt the guilt, the anger, the loss but I know that having the right people in your corner has been so bloody important.

Chronically Empowered

YOU are at the heart of the Chronically Empowered approach.

I know that no two people with chronic illness are the same, even with the same chronic condition.  And because of that our programme is designed with YOU at it’s heart.

If you are newly diagnosed with a chronic illness and are getting your head around all the stuff, feel tired and overwhelmed juggling your health condition and life, or want to get clear on how to mange your symptoms, live a great life, improve your mindset and learn to embody the changes – then this programme is for you.

We will work together focusing you and your health and your life. With me in your corner, you will take action so living well with a long term health condition becomes your reality.

You’re worn out, tired and feel like you’ve tried it all… the supplements, the self help books and  ALL the doctors

You’re constantly stressed and overwhelmed and feel like the smallest thing is going to tip you over the edge

You feel like you are the only one in the world going through this and no one really one understands what your life is like, how can they?

You had your life planned out, then this… now you you haven’t a clue what the future holds and that scares the f**k out of you
You just want to get back to being the old, confident you again but if you are honest you are not quite sure where to start
You have noticed your world get smaller as you have had to prioritise your health and the things that matter but if your honest you just want a little fun.

“Sarah has been a warm, friendly, and incredible support to me…

especially as I returned to work full-time after a long period of illness. She allowed me to see where I needed to take a step back and re-evaluate my goals and values, and breathe when I started feeling overwhelmed. It was perfect timing for this new transition. She really has a multitude of techniques and I totally recommend her insight.”

I strongly believe that we shouldn’t have to figure it all out on our own, or accept that ‘this is it’.

This programme is designed around the support I wish that I had when I was diagnosed with my chronic illness’.  and was desperately trying to get my head around what that meant for me, my family and my future.

I spent years trying to figure it all out for myself, learning to recognise the subtle symptoms so that I could prevent the crashes, to undo the coping mechanisms that I had taught myself to survive and to understand the domino effect health often takes with chronic illness.

The big change came for me when I learned to accept my chronic illness and disability and to manage and face up to all the thoughts and emotions that I had been hiding from.

I connected again with the things that brought me happiness and joy. I got a handle on the things that I could control and let go of the things that I couldn’t.  So that I felt in charge of my destination again.

I built stronger relationships with family, friends and medical professionals and most importantly with myself. I began to look at life in a totally different way and can now look back on my younger self with compassion.

There is a real gap in services when it comes to empowering people to mange chronic conditions in the UK which I have seen first hand in my family and the lives of  my clients. This programme will give you the 1:1 support you on your own journey with chronic illness and disability to rediscover who you are, relearn your strengths and reignite your passion for life.

Satisfaction Guarantee

I have a limited number of spaces for working one to one with clients, so that I can give you my full attention and energy. Because of this I don’t take on one to one clients without a conversation first.

Coaching is such a great thing and it’s really important that you find the right coach for you in order to get the best from it. And it’s important for me to know that I can help you and that we will work well together.

If after our first session you are still not sure, no problem.  Money back (minus your first session) no questions asked.

My coaching sessions with Sarah have left me feeling refreshed and full of positive energy.

I’ve gained lots of insights and ideas and have taken some useful practical steps.  Swapping the daily abstract panic and stress I felt about my need to return to work for a well-formed outcome focused on what I want to achieve for myself and my family feels really liberating and has opened up lots of possibilities in my mind. The practice of identifying and reflecting on what I want, and when I want it, has helped massively – paying attention to this as I go about my day to day is helping me to manage distractions and make decisions about how to use my time. ”

In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Sarah…

After living with two genetic conditions (Charcot Marie Tooth Disease and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) all my life, a large proportion of which was undiagnosed, I found myself just surviving.  If I’m honest I just didn’t know another way.  But when the kids were born and I realised that chronic illness and disability may be present in their lives too I knew I had to step up.

I actually realised that I had quite a skill set.  I knew the systems, how to help others, to teach and to advocate. But my body was stuck in a survival response – first I had to learn how to heal.

It was in my training as a coach and Master NLP Practitioner and further studies into neuroscience, the nervous system and managing chronic illness that it all fell into place.

I learned the tools and techniques, that I if had I had access to earlier, I would not have spent the years muddling along, second guessing my choices and constantly moving from a state of flight and fight to complete crashes.

I am amazed by the positive ripple effects that can be seen in all areas of my life – I still have my chronic conditions (they are both genetic after all) but the way I manage them day to day and my relationship to them has changed. I am definitely in the driving seat now.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have a question?

Check out the answers to the most commonly asked questions below… got any more? Just book a call and I can answer them.

What is a life coach?
A life coach helps you establish a plan to move you closer to your goal, helps you track your progress, and hold you accountable to take courageous action.

Reaching goals doesn’t happen overnight. It takes clear strategy, hard work, and patience. But trying to reach a goal without support can be overwhelming and lonely.

Imagine having the accountability, resources, and a best friend by your side  (that’s me) to help you to reach your most meaningful goals in half the time and effort and to become calm, connected and in control of your chronic illness?

Who do you work with?
I work with women (and the occasional man) with long term or chronic illness and help them to take control of their life and their health.

These people are from all walks of life, homemakers, business leaders, other coaches and students.

I help them get in control of pain and fatigue, manage symptoms, re-connect with who they are, regain a sense of balance in their life, increase their confidence, learn to connect with their emotions, befriend and attend to their own nervous system and feel in control of their lives and where they are heading.

If long term illness is not part of your life and feel we could be a good fit?  Get in touch and we’ll have a chat and see if I can help you.

What happens if I can't make a session
Hey, I understand that chronic illness is unpredictable and the journey to wellness is not without its bumps in the road.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy where you can log in and rebook at a time that suits you better.

If it’s less that 24 hours this option will not be available but you can give me a call or email and we can discuss if it is possible to rebook the session.

How do sessions take place?
All sessions will take place over zoom.  You will need to download the zoom app prior to your first session and have access to a reliable internet connection. You may also need a pen and paper hand.  Alternatively sessions can take place over the telephone
How long does coaching continue for?
That depends on where you are in life, where you want to go, and how quickly you want to get there.

There’s no right or wrong time frame for life coaching. Some clients achieve their goals in as little as four months; others stay with a coach anywhere from six to eighteen months.

After clients realise their first goals, they often identify other areas they want to work on. Lots of my clients have monthly sessions after the initial programme is complete to keep on track with their goals.

The coaching relationship can continue as long as there is benefit to the client.

Do I really have time for coaching
Absolutely! Life coaching sessions are conducted on Zoom so they are super convenient to you. Typically I see people for an hour a week, but this is very flexible.

The real question is do you want to invest in yourself?

It's expensive, can I afford it?
I get it, you are not buying a new car or booking a holiday where there is instant gratification or something to look forward to.

This may not feel like that and that is OK. The problem that you want to solve most likely out of your comfort zone, or you would have it figured out by now.

Coaching, will push you right out of your comfort zone and that may feel uncomfortable but the alternative is staying safely where you are (at least you know what to expect there right? even if it’s frustrating).  But I’ll let you into a little secret, no change will happen.

The person that you will become in a year from now would hire me. Working with me is an investment in your future and to do that you need the courage to step out of your comfort zone and do the work.

The decision may feel uncomfortable because it requires to be brave and to be bold. That doesn’t always feel good. But the end result does.

The question really is what price would you put on your health and happiness?

“Talking with Sarah is like catching up with an old friend, and she is the best cheerleader cheering you on to a better place.”

“When I first came to Sarah, I thought I had a hold of my mental and physical well-being, however she introduced me to new concepts to keep my me in check. Pacing, maintaining my window of tolerance, understanding hypoarousal, and giving my inner child forgiveness are just a few of the concepts that gave me more insight, purpose and control in my chronic illness life. It didn’t matter what we talked about in our sessions, Sarah had the practices to apply and she gave me the encouragement to succeed. Talking with Sarah is like catching up with an old friend, and she is the best cheerleader cheering you on to a better place. I highly recommend Sarah as a life coach and advocate in your healthcare team.”
